During a protracted pandemic, I needed a USB webcam for my desktop so I could attend online Zoom meetings with my writing group. Sure, I had a built-in laptop, but the quality wasn't great and I wanted to make sure my side of the call was smooth and clear. While it is true that there are many options in this price range. Let me tell you why RALENO 1080P webcam should be your choice. When it arrived (quite quickly, I must add) I took it out of the box, unraveled the nice long cable and plugged it into a USB hub. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? Yes, everything worked. The image was crisp and clear, the colors were accurate, and it didn't require jumping around to get it ready to go. Every app I tested it with (Win10) saw the camera and accessed it with no issues. The first picture of this handsome man is me, taken with the RALENO 1080P webcam. As for the other two images, while the camera sits nicely on my monitor, my desk drawer is obscuring part of the image, so I made a small stand for the webcam to sit. I wasn't overly impressed with the sound quality of the dual built-in mics, but let me elaborate on that statement: I've been podcasting with high-quality XLR condenser mics for 10 years, and I'm used to the sound of a $350 mic. When I compared the sound quality of the webcam mics to the sound quality on my laptop, the Raleno mics were noticeably better. So when you use the laptop's built-in webcam and microphone, it looks and sounds better. If you have an extra (high quality) microphone to pair with this webcam, you might want to use that. It doesn't seem anything complicated, it's a good buy.
