My previous circle cutter didn't have a handle to squeeze and I liked the idea of this added safety feature. Unfortunately, this was the opposite of security: when it arrived I couldn't get it to work. I pressed a small button that I assumed was a lock (it was), but it kept clicking from side to side without opening. I checked the packaging - there are no instructions. I checked YouTube - no video tutorials. I fumbled to get it to work and thought it got stuck when it slipped and cut my finger and now I have 5 stitches. So I think it's good that the blade is sharp! Back from the ER, my husband finally got it to work, but it took him a few minutes to realize that we just weren't squeezing the lock hard enough. If there was ANY instruction, this could easily be avoided.
