Bought for our young couple of Indian ring necks. I didn't realize how dark their 30" x 30" cage was until I added this light. It's durable, very bright and as advertised. It didn't matter when we showed our plumage, but it was bought to benefit their health. Very satisfied. This replaced the pedestal, free-standing cage lamp, which was inadequate. I put him on the perch above the cage so they don't bite him and he doesn't get wet when bathing. The bar is connected to a smart plug that turns on at 8am and turns off at 8pm to ensure a constant light-dark cycle. The birds are well rested and ready to go in the morning and when the light comes on above their cage they start chirping plaintively to make sure we open the cage and give them a vegetarian breakfast. When it turns off at night, they'll peek until we cover the cage, then giggle with gratitude before heading off to dreamland.
