Wow! It improved my accuracy the first time I used it. I do resent a little about using a mechanical pencil as I break leads all the time, but it's a small price to pay for great accuracy. It's so easy to take measurements and set a mark for using a chainsaw. And if the blade is the "wrong" size, I can easily add the 5/32 I need for the cut. It also easily slides under the tape measure for perfect square marks. It took me a while to get used to it as I was used to using a carpenter's pencil and the thin lead kept breaking off. I'm slowly learning techniques to take clear notes without breaking the staves. My only real complaint is that it's very easy to draw a line and not realize the lead didn't leave the pen until I took the square, so I have to go back and do it again. As a result, the line wears out very quickly.
