From what I've read, this block stays active 24/7 until manually disabled. This is not the case with this transmitter. From what I've learned from reading lots of questions and answers, this new 2020 model turns itself off after just a few minutes of inactivity. However, I have read that when powered from a switched source the unit does not turn off but turns on again when the switched source is turned on. So I plugged the USB adapter into the back of my receiver (whose power is cycled on and off by the receiver) and now when the transmitter is on (blue light flashes) when I turn off the receiver the transmitter turns off too and When I turn on the receiver, the transmitter turns back on and is ready to pair with my headphones. This was important to me because both my wife and I are older and we have to get on and off the couch. Switch the Bluetooth transmitter back on - problem! (We always forgot to press the big button before sitting down). As for the transmitter function, it works well. The sound is good, there is no lag in the sound. After solving this power problem I am very satisfied and recommend this device to others.
