Review on πŸ“ž Enhanced Efficiency with AT&T 1738 40-Minute Digital Answering System featuring Time/Day Stamp by Julie Beaird

Revainrating 2 out of 5

workable but disappointing

I am not very happy with this machine. My main complaint is that after the first viewing, the message is naturally numbered and saved. Let's say I have seven messages on the device, my last message is saved as number eight. If I want to listen to the last message again, I press play and message number one plays first. I have to press "Skip" seven times to get to the latest post. Pretty annoying when you want to store multiple messages on one machine. Also, there is no other way to make a backup while listening to a message other than to replay the entire message. If you forget a phone number, like at the end of a long message, sit back because you'll have to go through the whole damn message. of course, after clicking "Play" and "Skip" a couple of times. Voice quality on the display is okay, but not great, even when using the display's remote access recording method suggested by a reviewer. And finally, it is inconsistent in the number of calls to be received. I have it set to four and am testing it on another line right now, I hear five beeps on the phone itself and then my voicemail service picks up not this answering machine. I say inconsistent because it appeared earlier. Listing these complaints fueled my anger and I will now see if I can return this product.
