Edit: We've had this for 4 months and our dog just fractured one. She pulled and the plastic on one side of the clip broke. I would not recommend this for a large dog or another dog that pulls heavily on her. A few weeks ago my dog jumped out the window while we were driving 30. I never thought this would happen in a million years. me, and that doesn't mean her window was all the way down. Luckily she had a few scratches, grazed paws and a small patch of street rash about the size of a quarter on her thigh. It could end up being hit by my car or another car, or she was injured so badly that she had to be put down, but luckily she was fine. I've searched the internet and found that dog harnesses are a thing. Personally I don't want one that snaps into a seat belt because I've read a lot of reviews about them being untied or animals stepping on them and untiing themselves and I didn't want to take that risk. This product is ideal for those whose seat belts are not compatible with this product or for those who simply want something different. We use this on my 68 lb dog and she doesn't mind. We have one for each car and put it on the center headrest to fit in any window, also there are no metal bars on the center headrest in our cars. Just in case, I didn't want the plastic clip at the top rubbing against the metal. It seems pretty strong to me because she pulled a couple of times when trying to sniff a person at the entrance through the window or when we were being served food, but she understood that she could go that far and then she did sat down . We almost cut ours down to the smallest part because it's big and we wanted it to be short enough for her to get up and sniff the window, but if she tries to jump she can't escape and the window normally closes only halfway or when he wasn't watching her he would roll up. We love it and the price is amazing considering there are two included. My only concern is that the adjustable strap that slides up and down may eventually become non-stick, but so far it's been solid. I wouldn't recommend using it in the event of a car accident or anything because they aren't designed for that. You should keep your dog at a distance in the car.
