WORKS BUT BE CAREFUL!

I have a plum tree that produces a million plums so I decided to buy this device hoping to speed up the pitting process. I just dug about 70 plums with this stoner and these are my pros and cons namely PROS1. Pitts plums with minimal fruit loss2. sharp3. Efficient4. Not difficult VS1. There is no protective fence at the foot of the Plum Stone. As a result, I cut my index finger as the blade pushed the stone through the plum right out the lower half of the lever. The blade goes through the lower arm, so if your finger is there you could lose your finger.2. Some tough plums can take a lot of strength and effort to push through the pit. I've sweated with a few hard ones and it can be discouraging. (The pits of softer plums are easily shot through.) 3. The design of the upper and lower arms could be slightly modified to make them easier to hold and clamp. I had to resort to paper towels around the levers to get a good grip and not hurt as much when applying a lot of pressure with the drains due to the narrow levers. Hope this review helps.
