Review on BlueFire Dimmable Ceiling Interior Lighting by Ryan Foles

Revainrating 5 out of 5

These are really bright!

I have a Nissan NV200 van, the cargo area is lit by a single bulb near the rear doors. To say the cargo hold is dark is an understatement. I urgently needed a lighting solution. Searched the web, read all sorts of reviews. The main complaints were LEDs that just weren't bright enough or were failing prematurely. Two sets of Bluefire caught my attention, firstly it's the price. It seemed to me a lot of LEDs for the money. Second, the reviews don't mention poor brightness or premature failure. (I always read the most negative reviews first, looking for potential disqualifiers, I didn't find any) The product arrived on time, after unpacking the product I was amazed at the quality construction of the device, especially the LED driver circuit. I ran a quick test to make sure both devices are working. The light intensity exceeded my expectations, as did the color temperature of the LEDs. I find that "cold white" can be overly blue, like Christmas lights, warm white sometimes tends to bleed far into orange or yellow. These blocks were a nice neutral white. Installation. The screws that came with it were a little too weak to screw into the van's sheet metal. I bought some 0.50 screws at the hardware store and everything was fine. The hookup instructions were a bit vague but it was mentioned that these devices are NOT polarity dependent. I connected two units in parallel to the van door lighting circuit, wired the wires neatly and did my job. Now I have a very brightly lit hold, I'm happy with the overall look. And I sincerely recommend this product. The only area I can't comment on is durability as I haven't owned these devices for a significant amount of time. Get in touch with me in about a year and I'll update this review.
