Overall there were good projects for our 7 yr old son. The wood is pretty solid and the holes lined up pretty well. Some minor issues with some of the counterbores that weren't all the way cleaned out, but nothing major. The included screwdriver was ok, but using a longer one from a different building set was more useful.The one big downside was that the coupling rods kept getting jammed into the ground causing the trains wheels to lock up. The included screws were too long to be able to properly tighten them down (they'd go through the other side of the wheel) so we left the rods off. May go back and try with a shorter screw later.All in all, a couple of fun projects! We plan on buying some more sets once allowance builds back up!
