As a regular headset, it's awesome. Great bass as advertised. Microphone arrays capture crystal clear voice for zoom meetings, phone, etc. Quality product from Sony (I have had several high quality Sony headsets in the past). But I'm a bit disappointed with the noise-cancelling performance, which is the main reason for the purchase. There is a button that allows you to switch between 3 modes: Ambient Sound (AS), Ambient Sound Control Off (AS off) and Noise Cancellation (NC). A test tone with a variable frequency from 100 to 2200 Hz was used. When switched off, the headset acts as a passive silencer, which can be compared to a passive hearing aid with a noise level of 27 dB. In that regard, it's designed well enough to get close to headphones. With NC mode enabled, you should expect it to be at least as good as or better than headphones. However, very modest NC performance can be heard in the 1100 - 1600 Hz range. That's a little disappointing. Then two other types of sounds were used for testing: water flow from a fan/bath and a fire alarm siren. One can hear the spectral change with AS and NC off for the first noise type (hair dryer, water flow) where the low-frequency component has been attenuated compared to the high-frequency component. But for a fire alarm siren, NC wasn't much different than AS off. Not sure I want to keep it as a much cheaper headset can already deliver this level of NC performance. But definitely as a headset, the sound quality is excellent. To complete the picture, other characteristics should perhaps be considered: 1- Mechanical comfort: not bad. It should be noted that sound, thermal insulation and softness are inevitably linked, so any headset with good sound and soft insulation should be a warm ear. This one is well designed and doesn't cause much discomfort due to the warm-ear effect. 2- Bluetooth connection: Pretty impressive as I can still hear the music from my computer clearly from 50 feet away. The connection may be a bit sluggish, but this may be due to an issue with Windows 10. I had to restart the computer and re-pair via Bluetooth once or twice for the computer to recognize "WX-HB900N". When it is detected as "LE_WX-HB900N", the wireless headset is not working for some strange reason. 3- does not work while charging. Therefore, it needs to be fully charged before use. It consumes only 0.25A current while charging, so it takes a few hours to fully charge.
