Review on Aves Apoxie Sculpt - 2 Part Modeling Compound (A & B) - 0.25 Pound, Natural by Doris Tran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product, would buy again

Apoxie Sculpt worked great for repairing an outdoor resin statue (a garden owl had a broken, missing ear). Observations from the first user: - I don't know if I received a product that is nearing its expiry date or if it should be, but it wasn't as smooth as expected. The instructions state that after mixing parts A and B, you need to let stand for 5 minutes. I found it to be up and running within 2 minutes. I had to constantly wet my fingertips with water to smooth the material and narrow/blend the edges. No problem, just found it worked - adding a few drops of touch up acrylic paint (after kneading but before use) didn't seem to affect handling or curing. Note, however, that adding too much can affect adhesion and hardness. Wax paper is great for rolling, flattening, and stacking material as you work. Depending on the project, step-by-step work helps. Even for this small area I applied a rough shape first, let it cure and applied a final coat - don't expect perfection, especially the first time! You can get great results on the first try. I'm satisfied but I found it a bit difficult to get very fine or small parts. You can't blame a product if you don't have the patience or eye for what you're doing. Practicing with different tools helps.
