I wanted earrings I could never take off. These are earrings. I have had a current pair for at least 3 weeks and have experienced no irritation, no tarnishing of the earrings themselves and no green ear situations. There are at least 6 other pairs in the set that I will be wearing for a long time. It's exactly what I wanted and for the $13 I paid it's a great value. Even if this pair falls out of my ears or breaks tomorrow, I will buy this set again. Edit: 3 months later I've worn most of the pairs. I change my earrings a few times a week depending on when I wash my hair (it's easier to wash my hair and earlobes without earrings), but mostly I wear a pair of silver round stud earrings and two different sizes of "diamonds". ". I try to remember to wipe them down with an alcohol wipe before putting them away or putting them back in for hygiene reasons, but if I've forgotten I haven't noticed. I leave them without green skin or fading for up to 3 weeks, but I usually want to change them out more often because of the style. I threw away all my other bobby pins completely because I don't want to accidentally mix them with these. I decided to update my review while on Revain to purchase another set so I have more styles to choose from.
