Review on 💻 SanDisk ImageMate All-in-1 Flash Memory Card Reader: Simplifying Your Data Transfers by Tom Lawson

This is for the SanDisk ImageMate All-in-1 Flash Memory Card Reader. The ImageMate USB 2.0 Reader/Writer (model SDDR-92-A15) is bent and has caused a malfunction. Since I have to travel a lot in the near future, I decided to invest in an all-in-one card reader and bought this device. I have used this reader for SD/SDHC, microSD, Memory Stick Pro and xD. This is a good card reader that transfers data from a CF card relatively quickly (17-18 MB/s). So far I'm very happy with it. It fits my outdated Thinkpad T60 (running WinXP SP2). I haven't quantitatively tested actual speed and capabilities (see K. Strong's review for a very good comparison of different card readers). I will run a separate set of tests to determine transfer speeds when connected to XP Pro SP2 versus Mac OS 10.4. Stay with us. I don't use a magnetic base. This reader lives in my laptop bag, so I appreciate the slim design. If I kept this reader at home, I still wouldn't use the base. I would have deducted half a star for this, but since the rating system uses whole stars, I decided to only give 4 stars. Otherwise I give 5 stars for functionality. The SDDR189 reader, while fast, is not as fast as the non-CF version of this reader. Also, SDDR189 is not as fast as Lexar's dual-slot USB reader (RW035-001), which uses the same CF card to transfer a 2GB file. Will (hopefully) be published soon. I highly recommend this card reader. It works.
