It smelled moldy - couldn't give it away

This is an adorable fox and I was planning to embroider my new grandson's name on it and give it to him for Christmas. When I unpacked it, I noticed that it smelled very strongly. It smelled like mold although the product looked ok. Not sure if it was a specific type of fabric or padding, but I didn't want to take change by giving it to my grandson and getting something harmful. I have been approved for a return and will be sending it back.
