It's the best of both worlds! Metal straws are gross because they can't be chewed (which I need for disability reasons) and silicone straws are gross because they're wobbly and weird. These straws both benefit without the downsides! The silicone tips are strong enough not to fall strangely, yet flex perfectly when chewed to control liquid flow. The silicone tips are removable but remain firmly attached to the metal straw. The metal has a notch and the silicone has a ridge that allows them to grip tightly together during use so the liquid doesn't spill even if you pull on them. The cleaning brushes are long and hard and seem to clean both silicone and metal from the inside very well.
