I was repairing a granite countertop at my mother's house (age 10) it was badly soiled and I reckon the installer "costs less" with real sealer and the stains didn't settle very well. I was able to remove the stains from the entire countertop (2 months of work), buff it to a glassy surface and apply this sealer twice as directed and then apply Tenax White Wax (a week later), this sealer lasted 60 minutes. water polo test. Oil, on the other hand, will CONTINUE to seep in and stain. Someone left a bottle of olive oil on the counter leaving a ring around the floor. It seems that the water will evaporate, but the oil will not and will soak. I just make sure to wash the counter with some soap and water after the meeting.
