As with the other reviews the black butt section detaches for cleaning and if you detach it too often it wears out quickly. Mine was a little dirty when I first got it - no protective packaging, retail only. A little soap fixed everything. I'll be using it alongside other small gauges so I won't get a lot of mileage out of it, it should probably be easy to use. It's not the BEST design, it's just that your expectations are low for a device that costs less than $10 and is scheduled to be replaced in a year or less.
