Since there is some inaccuracy in the height answers (and I have very little space under the bed, so I understand), here's a photo where the full height is 5.75 inches, but note that the side and Interior walls are all fabric. This allows you to squeeze the box to the level of your shoes to compress it into a snug fit. The bottom is a bit sturdy (somewhat), but I wouldn't pick it up and carry it, although it should be great for slipping into the area underneath bed and comes out. I added a few packets of desiccant as I had mold issues with my previous shoe organizer and don't want to go through it again. This organizer claims to be anti-mold, another plus.
