Our cockatoo loves these things. but then again. When he gets frustrated, he starts pulling the rope from above, causing the bungee to completely unravel. A little trick to completely prevent this and increase their lifespan is to wrap a small yoke around the rope next to the white one above. This prevents further unraveling of the rope and has at least doubled the lifespan we get from these things for now. Update May 2014: The yoke definitely helped us. It's been a year since we put him in the cage and now we finally have to replace the rope. I'm glad the 50 cent collar saves us so much money. and hello. You can reuse the clamp on the new rope. Because I'm also upgrading it to 5 stars this year (if you use a hose clamp).
