Canon does not recognize toner. The effect is the error messages that you have to clear and the toner levels are not displayed. Printing is decent, non-genuine Canon cartridge needs cleaning. Full color prints have slightly washed out colors compared to the starter cartridges that came with the printer. Overall good value for money.
