This is more than a cleanser as the instructions recommend massaging the skin for a minute. My beautician recommended it and told me to leave it on for a few minutes. So I use it in the shower and leave it on all the time. It tones and tightens - definitely tightens the pores on the chin and sides of the nose which I see in some of my friends of the same age (60's). I wouldn't be willing to pay that much if it didn't have additional effects. Also, my beautician said to use a coin-sized amount, which is much less than the bottle's recommendation so it lasts a long time.
