Review on Reverse Shark Attack TY SEGALL Umbrellas by Kimberly Saunders

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was unhappy with a good umbrella

I bought this album thinking it was new and received an album with a crease on the cover. I just feel like when I buy a new album it should be in perfect condition to frame, but instead the album I received isn't worth framing.

Pros
 •
Originally released on vinyl only by Kill Shaman in 2009, Reverse Shark Attack is a collaboration between Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin, two longtime friends who grew up together in Laguna Beach. Both proved prolific singers, songwriters and musicians, recording as solo artists and also appearing in bands such as the Sic Alps, Moonhearts, Epsilons, Traditional Fools and Okie Dokie. Equal parts danceable garage rock and effects-driven psychedelia, Reverse Shark Attack is a mind-blowing explosion of loud guitars, pounding rhythms and distinctive vocal harmonies, and these eight rambling psychedelic jams are sure to please the pickiest of rockers. The centerpiece of the album is the title track, a lengthy epic that shifts from a Beatles-esque melody to the oddities of psychology and folk before exploding into headaches brought on by ventures, smashing drums and wildly blazing surf guitars. This is a must have release for fans of these two artists and neither has done anything like this alone.

Cons
 • Vulgarity
