I received this collar in early July 2018. On January 12th 2018 our cat managed to slip his leg under the collar. The collar didn't open. Luckily we were home and were able to take it off in minutes while the cat pulled the collar off her neck so she could breathe (and apparently meowed for help.) I like the look of this collar but we're getting one which keeps opening with less effort. After this incident I found it difficult to remove the collar, it took me a few tries before it came loose. There was no hair in it, the mechanism looked unlocked. We had this collar ( Bought locally in 2017) before and when it arrived I checked to see if it was easy to open (since half my cat's weight makes it easy to open). At the time it was usually open like the old collar. We replaced the old one because the colors didn't display well and there weren't any snapping issues. I'm very glad we were home and that we were lucky as it stuck where the cat could breathe. I won't be buying it again for fear if it happens again we might be unlucky she might choke. Can't tell if it's brand related, product related or if we got one that broke after a few months.
