I use one of these to hold a towel to the side of the sink and it works great. They come in two parts: a self-adhesive backing that you attach first, then attach a chrome-plated metal hook that slides in plastic grooves and you're done. I have to cut the sticky square to fit the sink but I had to remove it as it wasn't straight and I wouldn't recommend it. It can be removed, but it takes a little effort, so make sure you do it right before removing the backing. You play with the hook a little but it holds tight, there is very little chance it will break out of the grooves. Good hooks when 3M commands are too small. Just remember to stick to a salable surface, not recommended on painted surfaces as they will adhere to paint better than wall paint.
