Now he's with me wherever my laptop is. PS It's only rated for 900J so it should be fine for small surges, but it probably won't protect you in the event of a large one. If you're interested in protecting your lines from lightning strikes, you need to think of something more advanced than a surge protector and invest in a backup power system. A UPS (uninterruptible power supply) is a great compromise between a surge protector and a backup power system if you don't want to invest that much but still want something better than surge protection provides.
