So here are two things I really didn't like about it: 1) The bottom sometimes separates from the top if it's not tight. This caused me to drop the spice-filled bottom half a few inches (luckily catching most of it) and thought the design here was poor quality. 2) When you squeeze the handle, the grinder moves a lot, making it difficult for you to get the spices exactly where you want them. I didn't find it very useful and didn't find it as good as my round pepper mill. BUT. On the other hand, it gives you some pepper to start with (already put in) and more importantly, allows you to get the product easily and with one hand. I would consider this for an elderly parent for example - by the time I filled the grinder for the first time and tightened it perfectly I could see it being attractive to those who didn't have much arm strength or had arthritis in their hands.
