Great phone, HORRIBLE warranty

Grandstream products are NOT covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Only resellers do that. Because of this, it's hard to tell what warranty options you have. We had problems with some. They have capacitors that scream bloody murder when connected to PoE. Luckily, Revain has replaced our bad phones. However. Grandstream has an EXTREMELY responsive support team and they are very receptive to feature requests and other support requests. We currently have 16 of these phones in service, as well as the GXP2130. The build quality is good, the phone is a bit heavier than our old phones. The screen is excellent, although the viewing angle isn't the best. All in all, this is a very nice phone to have on the table. Color screen, beautiful graphics, the ability to customize the main background and screen layout. We plan to order another dozen or so. So far I've managed to get the configuration files from our server as well as our phone book in XML format. I have several complaints. 4 ringtones. I just do not understand. Don't worry, that doesn't mean you can't customize them. but every phone has 4 ring tones. A ringing tone is emulated by default. You can change this through the phone's web interface to change the frequencies and produce a different ringback tone. The other 3 may have custom files loaded. This is where the problems start. To create a file for the phone, you need to take the file from the internet, put it into an audio program, convert it to PCM wav, run a Grandstream custom ringtone program, convert the file to a .bin file, convert this . bin on your TFTP server, then reboot your phone and it will load that ringtone. Multiply for each ringtone you want to "test". You must then remove these ringtones from the server, as other phones may accidentally download them. Just changing the ringtone is a lot of work. When you have multiple users, there's no way to give people options without wasting time. It would be a million times easier if you could upload the .bin file to your phone via the phone's web interface and not have to reboot. The restart alone takes almost 2 minutes. The interface is a bit slow in some cases, but it's not annoying as it's a constant slowness. Not that it freezes all the time, but the phone book and main menu screens can take a second or two to load. Reconnecting Bluetooth headsets seems a bit unreliable. My current phone is reliable and never has a problem reconnecting to my headset, but this phone has asked me to reconnect my headset multiple times. (The current 1.0.4.21 beta firmware has fixed many of these issues but is not yet released.) I think the handset's mic makes the sound of the person on the other end using the same phone a little tinny. If you were talking to someone who was on another phone they sounded great. It's not a problem, but I thought other phones had a microphone with better pickup. After a few months of use I don't even notice it anymore. I also don't like how the appearance buttons work. When you set a button as BLF, the indicator is green 100% of the time while another extension is on-hook. Flashes red when this extension is ringing and solid red when this extension is off hook. I also don't see any indication of a possible orange (red and green) combination like our current phones for extensions set to DND. With LEDs that are on 100% of the time, some of them may eventually fail. Some will fail before others, meaning phones will need to be replaced. Although this can only be a problem with our phone systems, it should be taken into account.
