I purchased this burgundy bag along with another bag (volganic rock crossbody in army green, standard size) for comparison. I have two young children and needed a large, multi-pocket bag to carry all the crap that goes with it. First, apart from the color, the two bags looked exactly the same. Same zippers, same pockets. However, the first thing that struck me was the strong chemical smell emanating from the Scarleton bag. I would hope it would eventually clear up but since I got it back I don't know. Also, the top zip opening of the bag was much smaller than that of the Volganic Rock bag even though they were the same size. The other difference was the material. The material of this Scarleton bag turned out to be cheaper than the Volganic bag. The strap of the Volganic bag also had soft padding on the side that touches your shoulder, so this bag seemed better quality overall. The Volganic bag is also available in other colors.
