So the picture quality is not bad but not great, even with flash there is still a lot of noise and blur in the photos. The flash setting is unstable, if you have an auto flash it really only flashes 40% of the time you want it to and even in semi-dark situations it sometimes won't fire and won't fire which is frustrating. I end up having to keep the flash on all the time because the auto flash is unreliable and doesn't realize when it's really needed more than half the time. The recording isn't bad, but it's not great either, although the sound is good. It's a very very basic and boring camera, as it's supposed to be waterproof and airtight I think they've decided to forego any of the detailed buttons or camera control options. It takes some getting used to as there isn't much you can do with the camera. For photography in wet or watery environments this is fine and doesn't cause me any problems, but I don't use the camera for anything that doesn't involve water AT ALL. This camera will most likely sit in a drawer until I need water. The camera body seals fairly well, but where the battery and SD card sit the cover seems flimsy and not fully sealed. I'm worried that submerging the SD card and battery in water might damage it. I haven't submerged it yet, but that's just my observation. I've had a water damage guarantee since I bought a 2 year old so it's covered but it would be inconvenient if that happened, that's all. So yes, that's my opinion. For normal shooting I use my 5D Mark 2 or my Sony camera.
