Wow. Where to begin. I mean, first off, I was always slipping out of my boots. I had to walk very slowly, because without laces, if I wasn't constantly focused on flexing my foot to make it as a big as possible, my boots just fell off. If I stepped in anything the slightest bit sticky – some gum, mud – off my boot went with a loud shlop, as I invariably took my next step wearing only the thinnest of socks into more gum or more mud.
