This is a regular ratchet strap with a lever instead of a lifting buckle which I prefer. It works reliably, albeit less comfortably than lifting buckles. The material of the leather belt makes a good impression, as does the material and workmanship of the clasp. I have two problems with this belt. First, the sharp end of the belt is under the tied end, which means the bitter end is difficult to pull to tighten or control belt loosening. This is a bit of a hassle for most, but will help for the elderly or those with poor footing, such as those with disabilities. B. People with arthritis, noticeably more difficult. The second problem is the size. The size range listed is designed to fit a 25" to 39" waist. I find that the ratchet area starts out a lot smaller than would fit a 39" waist. The buckle dips into the very end of the belt before the notches begin to render the belt functional, but such an arrangement will not be reliable. All in all, a decent belt, but by no means outstanding.
