I have recently lost 25 pounds and my wedding ring is starting to slip off my finger. After it fell off my finger twice, I bought it to save before losing it forever. Gauges come in a variety of widths and I had no trouble finding one that almost exactly matched the width of my ring. It appears to be of a spongy/velvety material. I cleaned the surface of the ring with the alcohol pad provided and attached the size, trying to center it as much as possible. It's been three days since I put it on and it's very comfortable, I don't even feel it's there. One plus I noticed is that my ring no longer twists on my finger and always stays right side up. There was no sign of it moving from where I placed it. I don't usually wear a ring when I'm at home. I put it on when I get ready in the morning and take it off when I get home from work. So I can't say if it will stay in place if you shower with it or get wet for a long time. I washed my hands several times and it didn't seem to cause any problems. But if I remember, I peel it off beforehand as it's really just a thick sticker. I will update this review as and when the size wears out or is removed.
