One of my favorite and most useful kitchen collectibles is my Castor knife. Shelline is a high quality cleaner that will not rust with minimal maintenance. This peeler is designed for potatoes, but can be used for any number of vegetables. I decided to try some carrots while preparing them for an appetizer. The rotating blade simply hovered over the carrot skin without scratching it. Shelline cleaned them quickly, easily and effortlessly. Some knives take off too much, but the stainless steel blades on these types of knives don't. The right side of the peeler has an edge that helps remove eyes on potatoes or stains on other vegetables. This type of knife is intuitive to use and requires no instructions. It can come straight out of the box and into action. The handle is a kind of stainless steel, the blade is carbon steel. Exfoliation requires no effort, and with a slight push forward, the peels simply curl. You can throw it in the dishwasher for cleaning, but I hand wash this type of kitchen tool.
