Review on Black Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Professional Grade Studio Monitor Headphones with Detachable Cable - Critically Acclaimed by Agata Pkala (Kira) ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

To put it another way, the sound is unmistakable. Since there is a store in the capital city located on Krasnye Vorota that is part of a large network and where you can listen to any headphones on the stand without having to deal with intrusive consultants, I listened to a large quantity of headphones (within 20 and Beats for 30k). I don't want the moderators to get the impression that I'm trying to promote this store; I just haven't really seen anything like this anywhere else so that you can try any "ears" from your source without worrying about anyone being "over your soul." In a nutshell, you can tell the difference between the M40x and the M50x simply by listening to them. Although there is a distinction between MSR7 and M50x, it is not as easily discernible in this context. Personally, I preferred the 50s, and this preference is not related to the cost at all. They have a more noticeable bass quality to them (just a LITTLE, but in moderation). Comparable to the Bose SoundTrue Around-Ear, but I preferred the 50s in both comfort and sound quality (including the design). The Sony MDR-1A headphones are very good, but the bass is very prominent. However, damn it, those bass lines are gorgeous! Quite the opposite of the Beats! Sincerely, I did not comprehend the rationale behind their asking price of $30,000 for them! (15 thousand, twenty thousand, or twenty-five thousand depending on the modification; which one is worse than the other?). I get that you want to show off your design skills, etc. On the other hand, audiophiles and others who place a premium on sound quality should look elsewhere. Do not believe it; instead, listen to the same 50s or the Sony MDR-1A, and then compare the two. None of the Sennheisers that were displayed there were able to "stick" (Momentums II and Urbanites). Everything else that comes after 50x, MSR7-SLAG, and just mindlessly pumping out the cash. At this price, I don't think there is any other option. Do not strictly judge for the review; if you offended any of the owners of the headphones with which you compared the ATH-50x, this is just my opinion, and I ask that you do not judge me based solely on the review. Listen to the 50x and the MSR7 (and the Sony 1A, if you like hypertrophied bass), and make your decision based on what your ears tell you. If you need exactly SOUND (and not show-offs and "pretty headphones"), then do so! The perception of sound is highly individual, and all knowledge is gained through comparison. You can spend a lot of money on the flashy design of the headphones you buy, but once your ears have been fooled by an authentically high-quality sound, it will be impossible for you to fool them again! The origin of the sound is of utmost importance! It seems pointless to select headphones for such a high price for the purpose of "listening to Facebook rap" in the mp3 format at 128 kbps, in my opinion.

Pros
  • 1. Stunning acoustic quality (see comment) 2. Indestructible plug (I think) 3. Soundproofing (in the subway, I listen to music at a third of the power of a player that is not the most powerful) 4. Collapsible design / replaceable ear pads.
Cons
  • 1. It's way too heavy.
