Review on πŸ”Š VTech DM271-102 Audio Baby Monitor: Enhanced Features for Secure Monitoring by Janet Battle

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Don't pay more to downgrade. Avoid.

This item has no improvement over its predecessor (vech dm221) other than a modern look. It's mostly missing features and/or has issues that weren't present in the previous version. No loop/hanger at top. This will force you to hold the parent unit sideways, which will inevitably result in the talk button being pressed.2. The previous version has the same power supply for the parent unit and the monitor. This new version has two different power supplies. This is more of an annoyance than a problem.3. The battery status is always displayed at the bottom bar, even after charging overnight. We even sent back the first unit we bought due to this issue but it stuck with the second unit we received. It fails to save the date and time, probably due to the same issue that causes the battery to keep showing low. Each time you turn on the parent unit, you will be prompted to set the location and time. The new planetarium/lullaby and door sensor features don't make up for this baby monitor's poor physical design and circuitry flaws.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • too blunt
