My daughter generally liked this little RC drone but there were issues which the 10 year old didn't notice but I did. Pros: 1) The drone is quite durable. It crashed into the house and windows, which any novice drone pilot can do, and it didn't negatively affect flight from those bumps and holes. 2) The hover function, while not perfect, worked quite well, especially given the price. 3) My daughter is 10 years old and she really enjoyed flying this drone while it was working. 4) Battery life is decent for the size and price. 6-8 minutes is really short but this is a starter drone for kids to play in the backyard, nothing that will be used professionally so while some will complain about the flight time if you run out of two batteries. The pilot will likely be ready to take a break. Cons: 1) The 80ft range isn't that bad, but if the drone is out of range it won't idle. and come to earth. If it flies away from you and gains altitude while flying out of range, it will fly farther away from you and keep climbing higher. You better hope you can run fast enough to get the remote back in range before it disappears. Luckily the first few times we had enough trees for the drone to recover. 2) We couldn't get the drone to fully connect to our iPhone 7. It was connected, but we couldn't see anything through the camera. or use the phone for any function. We didn't spend a lot of time on it so I might have missed something, but I work in IT so I'm not totally ignorant in this area. 3) Since we couldn't fully use the phone's UI, we couldn't trim the drone to hover in one spot, causing it to roll sideways at around 2mph. It was easier for me to just turn the drone 180 degrees and have it fly back to me than trying to fly the drone. If the camera works and fully communicates with the phone I would give 5 stars all day. Others seem to have better luck syncing from phones or tablets, so don't take my review too harshly. It could have been a simple factory error or we just missed something in the setup, but others haven't had this issue so I think this is the exception rather than the norm. As I can only rate based on my personal experience I gave 3 stars but if the drone synced I would give 5 stars for $40 all day. At the end of the day I would risk buying it again. If the connection issue was an accident or simple user error, for about $40 I would have had fun flying this drone and my 10 year old had a lot of fun flying this little drone.
