I bought this cable to combine the left and right outputs of my keyboard into a single signal to be sent to a powered speaker. It worked with headphones and recorder, but centered notes sounded strange with the speaker, only left or right was fine, and bass was lacking. It only worked with a 3.5mm to XLR cable with an adapter. I tried 3 other cables, both XLR and 1/4 male, and none worked. They were all trs so that couldn't be a problem and i tried ts just in case but then of course i didn't get the right sound. I'm really confused. Update: Fools on me! It turns out that you can't feed a stereo signal into the balanced input, the adapter works fine.
