I have replaced 3 cables that are sticking out instead of a 90 degree cable like this. The last direct cable I bought was "high quality" but stopped working after a few months. I've had this cable for a month now with no problems. It never gets bumped or pulled like a straight cable and the sound quality is very good (as good as aux cables). The 90 degree end fits snugly in the face of my radio and is secure. The straight end fits in my phone and also in an otter case. Sound or static is not disabled, very happy with this purchase. The longevity is still in the stars, but so far I'm very excited.
