The plastic parts of the spinner wear out quickly. After about 10-15 uses, the plastic parts in the rotating mechanism fell apart. If you look at the parts you will see that the metal center post has just reshaped the plastic component until it is loose enough to fall off. Before the mechanism broke I thought it was a good spinner. The base is strong and stable. The basket is also stable and rotates well in the base. The lid fits well and is very comfortable to use. Lettuce is quite dry if pressed well. We were very happy with the product until the mechanism broke. If the manufacturer reads this review, it seems like a simple solution: a central metal screw is pressed into a plastic nut that rotates the inner lid/basket. If this central plastic nut were metal instead of plastic, it would not warp. It was just a slight deformation causing other parts to fall off. Maybe we applied too much pressure, but this is the only way to rotate the basket fast enough for the lettuce to dry out sufficiently.
