Old? Hair Care - Hair Brushes

The plastic box with the items was dusty and open. The brushes should be pink, but they have an odd gray cast to them. The detangling brush was supposed to have a clip on the back to keep the individual columns of bristles from moving, but it didn't. I'm not sure if this product is old or used or anything like that but it just doesn't look in good condition.
