Not bad. Pretty good. I wanted to shred in such a way that I feel like the shredded things are so small that it would be impossible to put them back together. This paper shredder does the job and delivers. He takes a sheet of paper and shreds it into over 1,000 tiny pieces. I've heard of paper shredders catching fire, but as long as you don't let it get hot and don't oil the blades every time you empty the bin, you shouldn't have a problem. I've had mail I wanted to shred for 5 years and this thing worked great. Approximately 4 baskets will fill a 13 gallon kitchen garbage bag. For security reasons, the shredder turns off when you lift it out of the basket. Great if you forgot to turn it off when emptying the basket. The paper slot is wide enough for paper but not for adult fingers. Please be careful with children, although the machine may not turn on for items smaller than 1 inch or so. Be aware that accidents can happen. Don't worry about the braces, this thing takes care of that with no problem. My only problem is that you can only destroy 6 standard pages at a time. Remember that the thicker the page, the less it needs to be loaded into the shredder. That being said, for home use, the 6-page limit doesn't really matter. To keep your shredder running smoothly, I recommend purchasing a shredder lubricant. It's not expensive and your chopper will last a long time. Use it every time you empty the trash can.
