AooDen car fridge is a decent portable Peltier effect fridge. The effect creates a temperature difference by transferring heat between two electrical connections. Voltage is applied to the connected conductors to generate an electric current. When current flows through the junctions of two conductors, heat is dissipated at a junction and cooling occurs. Heat is removed in a different context. Keep in mind that this type of cooler does not use a compressor to cool the compartment. This cooler is very similar to a small cosmetic electric cooler, but this cooler has an internal fan for more efficient cooling. The cooler will cool down to 45-50F in about 2-3 hours at a room temperature of about 75F with nothing in the cooler. But if I fill the cooler halfway with different sized drinks, the cooler cools down to about 50F within 24 hours. To cool the storage when it's full I add a small/medium ice pack. The internal temperature is brought down quickly with an ice pack and can reach 35-37F for over 24 hours when the ice pack is still icy. The construction of the cooler is very heavy. If you transport it empty in the car or secure it in a basket or box, the fridge will fall like crazy in the trunk. I've been using this fridge for a few weeks to shop for groceries or go out at the weekend. Now I can easily store cold food on a hot day. A compressor cooler will likely cool more efficiently, but will cost more than a thermoelectric cooler.
