I bought this to use in a large playpen with no mat. The thing is so big I had to fold it on the side to fit it. That's not bad. I might just be mechanically incompetent, but I couldn't get it to fold back. I also ended up zip tying the playpen together because I couldn't assemble it either, so that should tell you something. The carpet is thick. It is structured for my grandson to walk. When my granddaughter and nephews got in, they played pattern games. So I definitely recommend this rug if you can find a way to fold it.
