Not a good choice for a small boy
I got this pair of shoes for my 5 1/2 yr old son to wear specifically over the summer while he's in summer camp - inexpensive price + light weight + velcro = convenience and easy. Honestly, though, they're not good shoes AT ALL. After just the 1st day of wearing them, they're filthy to the point of WOW and they've actually quite large in the sense that they seem to be made for small children with really fat Flinstone type feet? I definitely don't recommend these shoes (especially for boys) - and will probably end up having to get another pair for summer camp since these don't seem to be good enough even for that purpose.
