I am a regular Litterbiotic customer. I have four cats that use two trays. (I know this is less than half the crates recommended by experts.) The smell was intense when I cleaned them daily. I was looking for an unscented enzymatic odor absorber when I came across Cooter Muck Litterbiotic. I'm a big fan of beneficial microbes so I decided to give it a try. I started with clean bowls and fresh clay litter. After a week the odor was significantly reduced and continued to improve to the point where it was almost completely gone. I empty the boxes daily, but since using Litterbiotic (a few months ago) I haven't had to completely change the filling material. Since the litter is now colonized with beneficial microbes, rinsing the crate weekly is likely to be counterproductive. I find that I need very little Literbiotic, a pinch a few times a week is more than enough to keep the boxes odor free.
