Review on Westmark Multipurpose Vegetable Interchangeable Stainless by Lisa Chavez

UPDATE: Part holding drum in place broke within two months. Luckily I was able to give it back to Revane. I'm glad about that because I really didn't like it. I use this type of grater/chopper almost exclusively for cheese. I used to have a microplane grater and it has lasted for many years. I bought this as a replacement because it was a lot cheaper. So how do they compare? The bunker is a bit smaller than the microplane, which surprised me. I need to cut my cheese into smaller pieces that take a little longer to grind. But the mechanism that holds the drum in place is easier to open and close, which is nice. Best of all, you can see through the drum. With my other grater I would have to stop and turn to see why the cheese isn't coming out, with Westmark you can watch the cheese being shaved. Really nice feature. It's also easier to remove lumps. The top of the container is ribbed so I had to use a brush to clean it but it helps push the food down. It cleans up easily on the top shelf of the dishwasher (after making sure all the cheese came out of the combs). I always put kegs in the dishwasher and they turn out great. Haven't tried the slicer yet, but the other two drums are good. The coarse mill makes good pieces. I just wish it was wider overall. Recommend.
