Review on Marmot PreCip XL Boys' πŸ§₯ Waterproof Jackets & Coats: Lightweight and Reliable! by Paul Zimmer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good, reliable simplicity.

You can rely on this rain cover to keep your children dry. It may be tempting to carry a cute and inexpensive raincoat with you wherever you go, but the marmot's difference in quality and functionality is so tangible that it's well worth the investment. At first glance this is a simple jacket with a simple design, but upon closer inspection it is clear that a great deal of attention has been paid to detail. The buttons and zips are of excellent quality, the zips are equipped with ribbons for an ergonomic closure and access to large pockets, the base of the hood is elasticated so that it does not slip during use and the collar is lined with material that is soft to the touch the neck and chin. The line is even and precise. All these details seem simple, but they are not ubiquitous. This coat is built to last. It's true that it's a little big, but please note that this is just a waterproof cover to keep clothes dry. Depending on the weather, the wearer is likely to be wearing layers underneath for warmth, so the plus size makes sense. Also, it's a raincoat, not a sports jacket - what if it's baggy? We live in a climate where rain is fickle, so it's nice to have a raincoat that lasts multiple seasons and has room to grow. Great jacket, highly recommend.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and rock climbing
Cons
  • The jacket cannot be machine washed or easily cleaned
