I do not have perfect pitch, so I have to rely on my own perceptions of how different sounds make me feel (I also have problems with determining the sound quality of a scene). Having said that, I have previously owned a pair of Beyerdynamic DTX 102 ie headphones, and ever since then, I have been unable to listen to music with any other pair of headphones. I took the monoprice 9960 after using it for a year and drinking beers that had been dead for a considerable amount of time. Their cost was 2-2.5 times cheaper than that of beers, however it was twice as much as that of soneks. The sound quality was not to my liking, and I got the overall impression that it was not very clear. The headphones began to warm up. Fortunately, I was only able to get into them for a short period of time before I lost them (after a couple of weeks on a drunk, which was a nice day). I've been making use of the most recent model of the Sonya for the past few days. In order to evaluate Sonya's audio quality, I used anything that was within reach, including the headphone from my iPhone 6s. It seemed to me that the sounds were rather comparable (rock, base, trance). The headset has a marginally boosted volume. The tone of Sonya was just right for me. The phone and the Cowon i2 are the two devices that I use to listen to music. Greetings to all audiophiles!
