Nice but not the best choice

I ordered this for my son's wedding. They looked beautiful with very intricate and well done laser cutting. Regular ink sticks wouldn't dry on it unless you let the writing dry overnight and then applied a fixer to it that can be bought from Michael, which seems labor intensive, or use a felt tip pen or metal calligraphy pen, what we have done. We calligraphically wrote each guest's name, table number, and initials of the pre-selected dish we requested on the RSVP card on the place card. We had table assignments but no seat assignments, so guests could be seated in any available chair once they found their table. We didn't want to deal with guests who complained that their seat wasn't the best at the table, e.g. B. backs to the dance floor etc. Although the staff knew that many of each meal went to each table, they had to seek out each guest. Place card to discover the guest's pre-selected dish, and so our guests had to place their place card in front of them, showing the first letter of their chosen dish. However, our wedding planner concluded that these cards would pose problems. Aside from the complexity of the laser cutting, which requires special handling due to the laser cut areas getting tangled together (which we were able to handle), the main issue was the thin paper stock used in these cards, making the cards unstable forwards or backwards dropped. . While we could deal with that since the cards had to be carefully and carefully placed on the accompanying table by the hotel staff, the problem was that the guests had to place them at their table in front of them. We decided that this lack of stability would wreak havoc when dishes were ready to be placed in front of guests, forcing staff to verbally check guests, if not for all, but for many. So we ended the day before the wedding with angst and a million other things! Buy durable (and thankfully still very stylish) postcards from your local store and have Kinko print them for you. Luckily we made it on time and our planner avoided unnecessary hassles during the wedding that could result in many dishes going cold. In case you are interested in these seat cards because they are really beautiful, I advise you to use them when you have a situation where your guests just need to choose their seat cards to find their table, I think like the situation with buffet. or a predetermined seat in the case of a seated dinner (as opposed to just a predetermined table). But if guests need to put them back on the table for some reason, these seat cards aren't the best choice. Good luck planning your event.
